Reel Mower Safety Precautions

Know your controls.
Read the owner's manual carefully. Understand how to safely operate and stop the mower in case of an emergency.

Clear the lawn.
Remove sticks, stones, wire, and other debris before mowing. These can jam the blades or cause injury.

Inspect before use.
Check that the blades and cutting assembly are not worn, bent, or damaged. Replace damaged parts to maintain safe operation.

Check fasteners.
Regularly inspect all nuts, bolts, and screws to ensure they are tight and the mower is in safe working condition.

Use manufacturer-approved parts.
Only use replacement parts made and guaranteed by the original manufacturer.

Keep others away.
Do not mow while people, especially children or pets, are in the mowing area.

Use safety guards and precautions.
Never use the mower without required safety parts provided by the manufacturer.

Wear proper attire.
Do not mow barefoot or in open sandals. Wear long trousers and sturdy shoes with good grip.

Push safely.
Always push the mower forward—never pull it toward you while cutting.

Be cautious on slopes.
Mow carefully up and down slopes. Be especially careful on wet or uneven ground to avoid slipping.

Avoid wet conditions.
Do not use the mower when the grass is wet, as this can cause slipping and poor cutting performance.

Supervise use.
Do not allow children or individuals unfamiliar with the mower to operate it.

Store safely.
Store the mower in a dry place, out of reach of children and pets. Ensure the blades are not exposed. Always explain safety precautions to anyone unfamiliar with the mower.

Use eye protection.
Wearing safety glasses is advisable to protect against flying debris.

Lift with care.
Never pick up or carry the mower while the blades are moving. Wait until they have completely stopped and turn off the mower when not in use.

Be cautious around the engine.
The engine gets hot and can cause burns—avoid contact during or after operation.

Mind the weight.
The machine is heavy. Use proper lifting techniques and ask for help if needed.

Use authorized repair services.
Only use an authorized dealer to repair or maintain your mower. Do not strip, upgrade, or alter the machine.

Avoid pool areas.
Do not store the mower near pools or pool chemicals.

Engine safety.
Avoid inhaling engine fumes and always operate the mower in well-ventilated areas.
